10 Top Small Business Investments

Question: 690 GMAT, should i take over?
I need some help. I took the GMAT yesterday and got a 690 after previously testing at 730 the night before. I graduated magna cum laude from Arizona State University with degrees in both Finance and Economics from the business school for undergrad. Since then I have worked for 1.5 years at a boutique investment bank and done outside consulting for financial modeling on a small basis. I am aiming to get into an MBA program for fall of ’09 or shortly after. I want to get into Private Equity after graduating from the MBA program so I am looking to get into a top 10 school, preferably top 5.
The advice I need is this: should I retake the GMAT to try to improve my score to at least 710 or so? Either way, do you think I would be able to get into a top ten program (Columbia, NYU, Chicago, Wharton, etc.) with a 690 and my above credentials? Thank you for your help!
Answer: Take exam again. You are right – minimum you need is 710.
You are not coming from the top school, so everything else should be perfect. Add something extra to your resume. You would need to show that you have leadership ability. Help others, and put it on your resume. Good luck!
