Question: how do sales of financial securities impact gdp?

Hi, If FOREIGNERS purchase US securities (regardless of whether the owners are US or not), is there any impact on US gdp? So if US financial assets (stocks/bonds) appreciate, does that directly affect US GDP (a measure of income/production) at all? If so, what account should that be categorized under (Consumption, Investment, Government, NX).
