Question: Business Schools in Philly?

I’m moving to Philly and was looking into getting an MBA. I know UPenn Wharton is the best, but are there any other good Business Schools located in Philadelphia?

How does Drexel stack up? Or is Temple a better investment?

Answer: There are several MBA Options in the Philadelphia region. The Wharton School is excellent (US News & World Report ranks it 3rd in the country), but far from the only game in town.

MBA programs that come to mind are:

Drexel University (LeBow College of Business):

Temple University (Fox School of Business):

Villanova University:

St. Joseph’s University (Haub School of Business):

LaSalle University:

I would say Drexel and Temple are both strong; you would need to look more closely at their programs to see which would suit you best (is there a particular concentration you wish to focus on, etc?).

Villanova is a wonderful school (though I’m more familiar with their undergraduate programs), and my father received his MBA from St. Joe’s. Off-hand, these may not be quite as competitive as Drexel or Temple, but still worth looking into.
