Question: Is it possible to become a partner in a business in Cuba?

I met a ver trustworthy guy in Havana last week on my first visit. He is about to open up a resturant and I asked him if I could be a partner? He accepted. Now we just need to know if the paper work can be drawn up legally in Cuba? The investment is very small, so I’m not worried about loosing money. But I would prefer it if it’s all legal and on paper.
I’m not worried abot the US side of it. Only if it is possible to do it legally in Cuba.
Has any one ever done a partnership in a private business in Cuba? Please advise.

Answer: American citizens cannot engage in any trade with Cuba, this embargo has been in place since 1962, doesn’t look like it will end anytime soon. On the other hand if you were a Canadian citizen you would free to do it
