Question: I have seen ads about recovering funds lost by fraudulent and unethical investment advisors on tv recently.?
I think is is a Government agency or at least a regulated non-profit. What is the name of the agency and contact info?
My ex has lost much of her retirement funds and I believe a lot of the losses were due to unethical, even illegal negligence intended to enrich her advisor by placing her into very foolish investments.
Answer: If you believe that is a case you should file a formal complaint with FINRA and the SEC. However legally the only one that can formally file the complaint is your ex. If the advisor is found guilty of the charges they could face criminal charges and you might receive monetary damages, however it must be serious and gross negligence and you must provide clear examples of the charges.
